Yup, boost. Lots of it. Good stuff, it is. I've been driving a lot of AC this weekend as it's a big update. Dynamic track surface, improved multiplayer, this turbo missile, AI enhancements... so read a little more thorough Empty Box style description here.

Well first, multiplayer - didn't really hit on it in the video. In theory, the booking system will become pretty much obsolete and not required. In practice, I've yet to see a server set up in that manner, so I have to assume that servers just haven't been updated. Netcode does feel a bit smoother than I last tried it out. Before hand, it was very bad over 100 ping, which when you live in the western hemisphere and the servers seem to be concentrated in Europe, well... that is kind of important. It works better, it's smoother, less warp and rubber band prone, but still behind the curve.

AI wise, well, okay, it's better. I've noticed the AI seems less prone to "swashbuckling", you know, making those 40 degree saves in each way wobbling down the road, but still not ideal. It's better, though they still cant really handle difficult cars.

Graphics are much improved over previous, unless you were running SweetFX, in which case you will notice a bit less of an improvement. But still, it looks much better and yes, you can tweak the settings until you get it just the way you want.

But the real star is the car. Well... It's super, super, super fast. Turn up the boost and things happen fast, super fast. It's like FZero or Wipeout, it's fast! The grip is insane once the tires are up to temp, though it still feels very "snappy" or instantaneous with corrections. This is one area I think AC has kind of gone backwards on and it's no different, so it does make the car a bit of a handful as when it does start to go, you have to be VERY quick to save it as well, that much power means a "bit of wheelspin" is more like "buckets of wheelspin."

The other part is the boost though. It changes the car from a fairly "normal" car (With "race" boost at 60%) to a delicate fragile thing you have to be careful with at full boost.

The curbing issue is odd though, and I've only seen it here at Mugello so far. This video I'm using an altered setup that includes higher ride height to help combat the track "grabbing" the underside, though I'm still not sure it has done that. Maybe I'm not feeling how wide the car is and actually grabbing the back side of the curbs, the anti cut devices. But the way it just goes boom in those moments is strange. Don't care for that one. lol
